Took a shuttle bus to the Old Port (waterfront) of Marseille. Originally, we wanted to take a boat to Chateau D'If, the island made popular by Alexander Dumas in his book "The Count of Monte Cristo", but there were no tours the day we were there. Walked the hill to the Notre-Dame de La Garde instead. The view was stunning and got to see Chateau D'If in the distance. The Cathedral was stunning as well. Beautiful frescos, paintings, and stained glass, all with a mariner theme. Walked down the hill and ate lunch at a cafe on the waterfront. Walked the streets of Marseille and found a square with merry-go-round and awesome candy store. Mike took photos of the ship departing Marseille. He also went to the aft of the ship to take some dramatic sunset photos.
