Mike recorded our shore excursions on his phone using Viewranger, then loaded them into Google Earth to visualize them.
the red marker is close to our hotel. Barcelona was one of Emma's favorites.
The boat to Chateau d'If was closed for the day, so we visited Notre Dame (lower right) and lunched at Vieux Port.
Long bus ride from Genoa to visit two of the Cinque Terra towns.
Wow, this was amazing.
We ate a wonderful lunch then it started raining.
One of our longest days, visiting Pisa then Florence.

The red marker is about where the museum with the David is located.
The red marker shows where Mike went diving. Two dives - one at Blue Grotto, the other at the nearby wreck.
Here's were Mike went diving.
We rode a horse carriage all around town, then Mike visited a local farmer's market in the upper right area.
Another long day - Rome!
We visited the Coliseum and other places, had lunch at Emma's.
Another long day - Pompeii and Vesivius. It was raining hard in the morning and continued most of the day.
Here's Pompeii. You can see a small theater in the bottom right. The red marker shows where the ancient outdoor market was, with the famous castings of people trapped by the eruption 1,936 years ago.
Here's our hike up Vesuvius. Had to cut it short due to 50' visibility in fog/mist with rain.
You can see the ports on the L side; the red marker is at Knossos.
Knossos was neat but slightly disappoining, much of it having been rebuilt making it hard to see how much of it was original.
A long day at Rhodes. The red marker is at the port. The bottom left is Lindos, comparable to Cinque Terra in its beauty.
Here is Lindos, the ancient fortress marked by the red arrow.
The resort at Faliraki where we had lunch.
The ancient walled city of Rhodes, stlll inhabited so a mix of modern living around ancient buildings.
Turkey! The red arrow marks Ephesus.
Here is Ephesus. We started on the upper R and gradually made our way to the coliseum and past. Lots of friendly feral cats.
Santorini, the most naturally stunning place we visited. The red arrow marks where we had breakfast after riding up the cliff on mules. You can see where Mike went diving on the lower R, near the island of Aspronisi.
Athens was amazing.
The Parthenon!
The Temple of Hephaestus!
The Temple of Zeus!
We walked around this park. The Greek parliament building is on the lower L, the olympic stadium in the top center.
