After selling our house on Orcas Island in June 2012, we were able to relandscape the front yard of our Seattle home in the fall. We eliminated most of the lawn and created more flower beds to go for a cottage garden look. When the relandscaping was complete in October, Michelle planted bulbs, bareroot peonies, bareroot irises, and lots of groundcover. In the spring, she planted roses, perennials, rhododendrons, lilacs, a camillia, a dogwood tree, and more groundcover, but the garden in 2013 looked pretty bare. Emma took photos of the front yard throughout the spring and summer.
