We lived in our Orcas Island home for almost 6 years. The property was 24+ wooded acres on a hilltop overlooking the Strait of San Juan de Fuca. The Craftsman-style house and garage workshop included many unique features and details. The property was also conveniently located between Orcas landing and Eastsound village on the west side of the island (see map of Orcas).
In May 2009, we took many pictures of the house before putting it on the market. Before moving to the island in January 2004, we took pictures of the house after escrow closed. During the time we lived on Orcas, we made significant improvements to the property and took many pictures of the view from the deck, the wildlife, and the garden & grounds.
Living on Orcas was rural, but had many nice amenities. There was a beautiful Performing Arts Center, home to the wonderful Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival. Next door to the center was a very good Medical Center. During the summer, all the local farms would sell outstanding produce at the Farmers Market on the Village Green in Eastsound. There were several great restaurants, cute shops, many outdoor activities, and other amenities (see Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce site).
