Michael now you're married,
A soul mate you have found.
Someone to make you happy,
To keep you on the "ground".
It seems like just a moment,
A fleeting pass of time,
When you were just a baby,
Enjoying nursery rhymes.
Playing with your Legos,
Or taking things apart.
Watching and observing,
With innocence of heart.
We see you in the sandbox,
With Tonka trucks galore.
Listening to bedtime stories,
Tahoe trips and more.
Remember the unicycle?
The boat you built with dad?
The Vitus that you raced?
And good times that you had.
A tree house in Virginia,
A big wheel on the court,
Trips to camp and hiking
Or playing in your fort.
It wasn't always easy,
You challenged every day.
You questioned every rule,
We made along the way.
You tested every limit,
And watched the world react.
You pushed beyond endurance,
And our patience often lacked.
But one thing was for certain,
We knew how things would be
If ever you were challenged
And tried your best to be,
We knew of your potential,
And feared it might not come,
And then you lost a brother,
And life was not much fun.
But somehow you continued,
And look at you today.
A successful man and husband
And that is how you'll stay.
We wish you fun and challenge,
A love that's strong and true.
A future full of promise
The courage to be "you".
And when you do have children,
I hope you are as blessed,
And proud as Dad and I are
Because you are the "best".
Michael now is married,
Michelle is by his side.
We love you both so dearly,
Our pride we cannot hide.
Love,
Mom and Dad
